One day, my friends and I thought that it would be a fantastic idea to go to a spooky movie theatre and watch a movie. We decided to meet at the Candy Bar, and when we got there we were so excited to watch Annabelle Comes Home.
We sat down in the theatre and as the lights dimmed I suddenly thought, “What have I got myself into?” The music was terrifying. I thought this was a kid-friendly movie and now I am seeing some psycho doll on a killing spree. This was not my type of movie and not my friends’ either.

Spooky theatres are one thing but scary movies… no thanks. I’m not sure if some of this is a true story or is entirely from your imagination but in either case some details regarding why you (your characters) thought it would be an fun movie to see at a spooky theatre would help as I’m not sure how a moviegoer wouldn’t know it was a scary movie from the trailers and movie posters. Setting a story in a spooky movie theatre is a great location but some more details would help your readers believe in the story. The idea has great promise though.
