The battle had finally come. It was up to us to man the cannons and take charge. We had a job to do and a man always protects his castle. The ruler had given us commands, we were forbidden to give up.
Grabbing up the cannonball I felt that it was smooth but weighed an awful lot. I forced it into position and peered down below, frantically looking for a place to fire. Horrible thoughts popped into my head, but I had a job to do. With a heavy heart, I fired and as the impact came, I could feel their pain.

Hello Lachie!
I like your story because of all of the excellent words in it!
I wonder why they were fighting?
Who was fighting?
Goodbye, from Sam.
