Looking back, I remember landing on the moon in 2016. I remember the grey regolith (the moon’s dirt), the craters, the big ones and small ones. I also remember seeing the footsteps from the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong. The module from Apollo 11 was still there, glistening in the sun, the Earth sitting there in its glory, the meteorites burning through the sky making their way down to the surface of the moon. I remember the burning sun blinding me as it rose above the Earth. All I feel is amazement. It is my favourite moment ever, it was just WOW!

I particularly like the sense of place you have established in this piece and I’m always excited to learn a new word – regolith. Thank you. I had to google it to ensure that you were correct and you were!
As the rest of your writing is quite mature, I wonder if you would consider using a more sophisticated word than ‘favourite’ in your last sentence. Perhaps you too could google a thesaurus – try Word Hippo.
