I reached into the vat of dye to pull out the hide, but when I saw it, I bellowed out, ‘but it is the wrong colour. How are we to present this to the noble family?’ All was silent as I stood atop the vat, holding the green deer skin. “This needs to be blue. If we don’t fix this, we’ll be the ones skinned and given to the nobles instead of the deer”. Somebody yelled from below, “Jaxson, get some elderberries. The rest of you, start stoking the furnaces for the dye”. We added the elderberries. It turned blue.
