‘What do you think of this painting?’ I asked my sister, “I think it’s ugly!” She thought it was wonderful. We were looking at a painting called ‘Shearing the Rams’ by Tom Roberts. It showed men shearing sheep in a large wooden shed over one hundred years ago. “I still reckon it’s the most putrid piece of work in the nineteenth century”, I argued. My sister’s voice grew louder as she yelled back. She did a magnificent speech about how good the painting was. People started crowding around. That night, we discovered that we seemed to be on the television.
